Krav Maga Seminars
KNIFE SEMINAR
Soon to be starting in West Cornwall (Autumn time 2007)
ONLY open to those who have undertaken an induction in Krav Maga.
Although Britain is relatively tough on the possession and use of weapons, knives are easy to obtain. Today, criminals are stepping up their violent actions, even inflicting suffering after their victims have complied and co-operated with their demands.
What could you realistically do to defend yourself against an attacker? Is it possible to see a violent situation unfolding? How quickly would it take to learn the basics of defence against an armed assailant? A seminar to be held at the Saints Gym on May 29th aims to answer these questions and to tackle the most common knife threats.
Using the military based system of Krav Maga, the self defence system used by the Israeli army students will be taught knife defences against a variety of attacks and threats, including stabs, slashes, robberies and threats.
Although students of Krav Maga learn defences against armed assailants as part of their weekly classes, the decision to create a seminar dedicated to knife defences is in part to the tide of violence currently sweeping the country.
Ability in martial arts is not required, neither is a high level of fitness. The instructor, Valerie Blane, was able to teach and perform all the techniques without difficulty during both of her recent pregnancies.
